For sizes: 4LL–12LL, 6L–42L, 6S–38S. The cone of a pre-assembly stud is subject to wear and must therefore be checked regularly with a cone gauge. Warning: In order to prevent pre-assembly errors, it is important that pre-assembly studs are checked before use, and any that are outside the tolerance range should be replaced. The cone should also be visually checked for grooves or other abnormalities that could not be detected with a cone gauge.
